BENTONVILLE — The Northwest Arkansas Hockey Association (NWAHA ) Junior Ice Hogs played their first games of the season recently in Wichita, Kan.
Players from the Pee-Wee (12 & under ) and Bantam (14 & under ) divisions faced off against the Wichita Warriors in a match consisting of three games each.
The Pee-Wee Ice Hogs lost their first two games 4-2 and 5-3 but won their final game 9-8. Special mention goes to Andrew Miller, Trey Lowry, Jack Gaddy and Branson Jones who combined for the majority of goals and assists. Miller recorded seven goals in the final game
Kyle Jung and Weston Easley shared goalie duties receiving on average 28 shots on goal per game. Coaches Rob Lowry and Kevin Miller did an excellent job planning and coordinating the play especially given the minimal practice and playing time this early in the season. The Ice Hogs next match is November 8-9 in Springdale at the Jones Center for Families.
