Pea Ridge teams take third place

HARRISON — Pea Ridge pounded out 14 hits and Drew Rosser flirted with a nohitter Tuesday in a 16-0, fiveinning win against Lamar in the third-place game of the Class 3 A Region 1 Baseball Tournament in Harrison.
Pea Ridge plays Friday at 7: 30 p. m. in the first round of the state tournament in Searcy.
The Blackhawks led 9-0 after three innings Tuesday, scored five more in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Travis Parsons had a triple while Cole Ingram, Randon Webb and Rosser all had doubles.
Jacob Short had Lamar’s only hit against Rosser with two outs in the bottom of the fifth. Lady Blackhawks 4, Lady Pirates 3
ELKINS — Pea Ridge secured the No. 3 seed with a 4-3 comeback win against Cedarville in the third-place game of the Class 3 A Region 1 Softball Tournament.
Sharla Paryzek went 4 for 4 and Brittany Morgan had two singles and a pair of RBIs to lead the Lady Blackhawks (18-11 ). Morgan also got the victory on the mound.
Kayla Bangs scored the winning run for the Lady ’Hawks after reaching on a single and scoring on an error.
Pea Ridge will open state tournament play at 5: 15 p. m. on Friday in Pine Bluff.
