RUGBY Blues Rugby Club High school boys wishing to learn rugby football and play for the Blues Under-19 Rugby Club should contact Lt. Col. Zan Martin (Retired ) at (479 ) 636-1970. Blues U 19 ’s regular season is in the spring competing in the Arkansas Youth Rugby Association. The Blues practice each Tuesday and Thursday at old Tiger Stadium in Bentonville. SOCCER Joe Thoma Soccer Academy John Brown University women’s soccer coach Joe Thoma is hosting his camp for girls on the JBU campus in Siloam Springs for the 22 nd year. Camp dates are June 15-19 (Sunday through Thursday. Cost is $ 375 for residential campers (girls only ages 9-18 ), $ 250 for commuters (girls only ) and $ 85 for half-day campers (boys and girls ages 6-10 ). All-Star School at JBU The 18 th annual All-Star Soccer School will take place June 22-26 on the campus of John Brown University in Siloam Springs. Campers ages 9-18 will take part in four full days of soccer instruction, games and other activities. The All-Star Soccer School is directed by Bob Gustavson, coach of the John Brown University Golden Eagles soccer team. Along with Gustavson, outstanding college, high school and youth coaches as well as college and professional players will conduct sessions. Cost for the camp are $ 455 for residential campers and $ 305 for day campers, which includes all meals, camp T-shirt, a soccer ball, awards and instruction A half-day camp (8: 30 a. m. to noon ) for ages 9-11 only is available for $ 135. BASEBALL Umpires, scorekeepers meeting Rogers Youth Baseball umpires and scorekeepers meeting will be on Thursday at 6: 30 p. m. at the Rogers Activity Center. For more information contact Craig Smith at (479 ) 640-8506. Bentonville team holding tryouts A 12-year-old Bentonville-based competitive baseball team is holding tryouts for the 2008 season. Senior Babe Ruth registration Players interested in playing in the Rogers Senior Babe Ruth baseball program can still sign up. Cost is $ 75 per player. Age group is 16-18 years old. USSSA team looking for players An USSSA baseball team in the Bentonville / Rogers area is looking for 15-year-olds that are interested in trying out for the team. Cobras seek pitcher The Benton County Cobras, a 10- & -Un der USSSA baseball team, is looking to add a pitcher for the 2008 season. Must be 10 years old or younger on April 30. BASKETBALL Team Arkansas Elite 2012 Team Arkansas Elite 2012 is an AAU boys basketball team that was established in 2003. The team is looking for a few players for the 2008 spring and summer season. Players need to be born after Sept. 1, 1993 and / or currently in the eighth grade. The team will start its next season in late February and play in AAU events and top tier tournaments. TiPs Camp at BHS Bentonville High School will host the TiPs: Tigers in Progress basketball minicamp Monday, April 7, and Monday, April 14. The camps will run from 6 to 8 p. m. both nights at the Bentonville High School gymnasium. Tigers in Progress is for boys and girls in grades K-6. The cost of the camps is $ 30. Each player involved in TiPs will be given a T-shirt, basketball and a certificate on completion of the mini-camp, plus more prizes. BHS Lady Tigers players and coaches will be on hand to help teach fundamentals. Scholarships are available to all who are in need. Registration forms can be picked up at the Boys and Girls Club or at the front office of BHS. Registration forms need to be brought to the first evening of the camp. CHEERLEADING Rogers Youth Cheerleading Program Rogers Community-School Recreation Association registration for the 2008 Youth Cheerleading Program will be taken until May 10 at the Rogers Activity Center Girls in grades 4-8 for the 2008-09 school year are eligible to participate. The registration fees are as follows: ($ 65 ) includes cheer uniform, poms, and clinic or ($ 40 ) if those who cheered last year, will be in the same division, and on the same team. Cheerleader will not receive a new uniform or poms.. Each participant must have a current RAC membership ($ 20 ). The membership is current for one year from the date of purchase. GOLF Hi-Scots League The Hi-Scots Golf Group will host its Spring Breakfast on March 26 at Metfield Clubhouse in Bella Vista. Registration begins at 9 a. m. These times will accommodate the last day of winter play, which is at Country Club, with a first tee time at 12: 30 p. m. Call Audrey Hooshagen at (479 ) 855-1426 to play. First day of play the regular season is April 2.

Hi-Scots play 9 holes on Wednesdays at most golf courses in Bella Vista during the year. No handicap is required, just experience with golf play, rules and etiquette. American Legion Tournament
American Legion Post 341 will host a golf tournament Saturday, April 5, at Kingswood Golf Course in Bella Vista. The tournament starts at 9 a. m.
Entry fee is $ 45 for POA members and $ 60 for non-POA members. Carts not included. There will be three flights with payouts to the top three teams in each flight. A cookout will follow at the Riordan Pavilion.
Proceeds will benefit the Fayetteville Veterans Home, the Wounded Warriors Project and morale building packages to be sent to troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Applications for the Bella Vista Men’s 18-hole Golf Association are due March 15. The cost is $ 60, which includes handicap fee and spring banquet.
The banquet is set for March 25 at 5: 30 p. m. at Riordan Hall.
Applications are available at all Bella Vista golf pro shops or on the POA web sight.

The Bella Vista Women’s 5-hole Association will kick off its season with a brunch at Metfield Clubhouse on Monday, March 31, at 9 a. m. for registration and social hour.
The annual membership fee is $ 12 and the brunch is $ 9.
Send checks to Nancy Will, 37 Grier Drove, Bella Vista, 72715 by the Friday, March 14, deadline to be included in the membership booklet.
Now in its 28 th year, the league scores only the first five holes of weekly play on either Monday or Wednesday.
The first play date will be April 7.

The Bella Vista Womens 18-Hole Golf Club will hold its spring meeting March 27 at the First United Methodist Church on Boyce Drive in Bella Vista. Registration forms are available at all pro shops and on the Property Owners Association Web site, www. bellavistapoa. com. Doors will open at 8 a. m. with brunch being served at 8: 30.

Available for sale at the spring brunch will be the “ Recipes from the 19 th Hole ” cookbook. All Northwest Arkansas Women’s Golf Association member clubs have contributed over 400 recipes. Cost for the cookbook is $ 15 and profits will go to the First Tee program.
