BENTONVILLE — Many patrons of the Bentonville School District may soon be asked to give their feedback on several aspects of the district’s operations and the direction the patrons believe the district should take in the future.

The Bentonville School Board is scheduled to discuss the issue during its monthly board meeting at 5: 30 p. m. Monday in the Central Administration Building, 500 Tiger Blvd.

The idea of conducting a full scientific survey in the district was first broached Oct. 24 during the board’s work session, a planning meeting in which no official votes are taken. The survey would give the board a clearer picture on the district’s patrons’ perception of the school district and its needs. The survey results would then help board members determine whether they should ask for another millage increase and the size of the increase.

According to a memo from board president Travis Riggs, representatives from Patron Insight, an organization that conducts surveys, will have met with board members, community members and district staff about the survey before Monday’s board meeting. The next step is to allow staff members to give input about creating the survey and its possible topics.

If a survey is conducted, it will probably be in February, March or April, Riggs said.
