SSMH health fair slated for Oct. 18

A health fair titles “ It’s All About You ” will be held from 8 a. m. to 11 a. m. Oct. 18 under the big white tents in the parking lot of Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, 205 E. Jefferson.
The fair will feature local health-care vendors and others from northwest Arkansas.
The SSMH lab will offer a comprehensive blood test that screens for diabetes, liver and kidney function, and total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides. The blood test will be available for $ 15. Participants must fast at least eight to 12 hours prior to the test for accuracy.
A prostate-cancer-screening blood test for men will also be administered for $ 15.
Lab-test forms are available by calling Aimee Morrell at 549-2443 or e-mailing amorrell @ ssmh. us. Lab-test forms can also be downloaded from the hospital’s Web site, www. ssmh. us (click on Hospital News ). Forms will be available the day of the fair.
The American Heart Association’s Heart Walk will be held at 9 a. m. the same day, beginning at the site of the health fair.
