BENTONVILLE - Even an iffy economy hasn't hurt ticket sales to the 10 th annual Northwest Arkansas Business Women's Conference on Sept. 30, hosted by the Bentonville-Bella Vista Chamber of Commerce.
Krista Khone, vice president of special events and leadership for the Chamber, said the conference is a sellout. "We really didn't know what to expect this year because of the concerns about the economy," Khone said," but it didn't seem to have an effect at all. We're looking forward to a great conference with wonderful speakers. This is the 10 th year for the conference, and it's the first year we've completely sold out. "Gladys Knight, singer, actress and author, is the keynote speaker. The morning motivational speaker is Emory Austin, who is making a return appearance at the conference. Attendees will be treated to several other stimulating speakers addressing topics from heart health to personal image.
The Athena Award will be presented to a woman selected for achieving the highest levels of professional excellence. The Athena presentation will take place during the lunch break.
When the Northwest Arkansas Business Women's Conference began a decade ago, it attracted approximately 50 women. The sellout for this year's conference represents 1, 100 conference attendees.
