Language classes set

ROGERS - The Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce will host 10-week beginning Conversational Spanish and Conversational English courses for adults from September through November.
The courses are aimed at improving communication between employers and employees. Courses will be taught by certified teachers and are open to the public.
Conversational Spanish for Beginners will be taught by an instructor from Larson's Language Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, 317 W. Walnut St. Classes will start Sept. 16, running 10 weeks with the final class on Nov. 18.
Students will start using Spanish on the first day of class. Basic communication skills, including greetings, short dialogues and more than 150 useful phrases and idioms will be taught, including more than 500 vocabulary words. Class size will be limited to 15 so vocabulary may be tailored to specific professions or interests of the students.
The cost for the Conversational Spanish for Beginners class is $ 70, including registration and tuition. Books will be provided free of charge, with the option of purchasing the book at the end of the course. A Conversational English for Beginners class will be taught free of charge by instructors from World's Class from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays at the Boys and Girls Club, 408 S. Eighth St. in Rogers. The class is designed for adults age 18 and older, with free childcare provided by the Boys and Girls Club. Sessions will start Sept. 18 and end Nov. 20. The class and books will be provided free of charge to the public. Registration is required for the class.
