Man charged with rape

BENTONVILLE - A Rogers man was formally charged Monday with raping and beating a woman.
Arnulfo Escobar, 23, is charged with rape, a class Y felony, and two counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member and terroristic threatening in the first degree, all class D felonies.
Rogers police received a rape complaint on June 29. The alleged victim told police a man identified as Escobar broke into her house through a front window, according to court documents. The woman was asleep but awakened when the intruder walked into her bedroom, according to an affidavit in the case.
The woman told police she attempted to fight Escobar, but he raped her, court documents state.
Escobar is being held in the Benton County Jail in lieu of $ 100, 000.
