Election Commission sets ballot drawing

BENTONVILLE — An upcoming drawing will determine the position of municipal candidates’ names on the November ballot, Benton County Election Coordinator Jim Mc-Carthy said.
The ballot drawing, which will determine the order in which candidates in each election contest are listed on the ballot, will get under way at 5 p. m. Aug. 28 at the Election Commission Office at 105 S. E. Executive Drive, Suite 1, in Bentonville.
The drawing is only one of the many things commissioners, who oversee all elections in Benton County, are doing these days, McCarthy said.
The school election will be held Sept. 16, but among other things, preparations for the Nov. 4 election are, of course, under way already, McCarthy said.
Help for election night is being arranged, he said. “ We’re in the process of getting our staff together. ” Staffers will man the polls countywide on Nov. 4, McCarthy said.
Arrangements are being finalized for early voting at the County Clerk’s offices in Bentonville, Rogers and Siloam Springs. And there will be early voting in Bella Vista, at Highlands Crossing, too, McCarthy said.
