Pea Ridge fire boundries go before Quorum Court
Posted on Monday, August 18, 2008
BENTONVILLE - The Benton County Committee of 13 voted unanimously Tuesday night to send two ordinances involving the Pea Ridge Volunteer Fire Department to the Quorum Court.
The proposed ordinances sponsored by Justices of the Peace Jim Wozniak and Chris Glass will establish service boundaries for the Fire Department and authorize a county official to collect and remit annual dues for the department.
The amount of the proposed annual dues for the Pea Ridge Fire Department will be $ 50, to be listed on property-tax statements and collected at the same time as the property taxes for Pea Ridge residents.
The Quorum Court will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 28 to decide if the ordinance to levy annual dues for the Fire Department should be placed on a ballot for a special election on Nov. 4.
