Soldier Spotlight : Bentonville native doing her job in Iraq

This is another installment of a series of short stories on local citizens from Bravo Company, 217 th Brigade Support Battalion, serving with the Arkansas Army National Guard in Tallill, Iraq. Bravo Company's home station is in Rogers, and the majority of its soldiers live in Sebastion, Crawford, Washington and Benton counties.
• • • Spc. Brandie Hosier grew up in Bentonville and attended Bentonville High School. Her full-time job before leaving with the National Guard was taking care of her three children: a 10-monthold son, Tayman, and 3-yearold twins, Samantha and Anastasia. Here in Iraq, she works in our administrative section. Her daily routine involves processing many of the things that soldiers take for granted - things like pay, promotions, awards and the myriad other tasks that cross her desk. She is invaluable to our team here in Iraq, and we could not operate without her. When asked what she most enjoys about her job, Spc. Hosier said," I enjoy knowing that I take care of the soldiers in our company. Many of the things I do make their lives easier. That way they don't have to worry about it, and they can focus on their missions."
Spc. Hosier has only been in the Army for three years; this is her first deployment. She was originally trained as a signal-operations specialist, learning how to troubleshoot and fix a large array of communications equipment. Early in the deployment, the need came up for another person in our administrative section. Even though she had no training in this field, she volunteered and has excelled at her job.
When she isn't in the office, she enjoys reading books and watching movies with friends. She would like to say "hello "to all her family members and friends back home in Arkansas.
Her plan for when she gets home is to get to know her 10-month-old son, Tayman, whom she misses dearly.
