BENTON COUNTY — Undercover investigators for the Benton County Sheriff’s Office arrested an 18-yearold for prostitution Tuesday, according to a press release by Deputy Doug Gay.

The arrest was Jennifer Colleen Hudson’s second for prostitution since March, when she was arrested in Lowell, according to the press release. Investigators arranged to meet the teen at an “ area hotel, ” which was not named, and arrested her for soliciting sex for money. The Sheriff’s Office received a tip through the “ Report a Crime ” link on the county’s Web site that Hudson, a Fayetteville resident, was engaged in prostitution.

Hudson posted bail on the misdemeanor offense and was released from the Benton County Jail. She is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 20 and faces up to a year in prison and up to a $ 1, 000 fine if convicted. Fraud warning

In an unrelated case, Rogers police are warning residents about an incident of fraud that took in an elderly woman. The 70-year-old victim paid $ 48, 000 to unidentified suspects who told her she won a $ 750, 000 sweepstakes.

According to a press release by Lt. Mike Johnson of the Rogers Police Department, the suspects pretended to represent the sweepstakes organization and the IRS, asking her for cash sent from different area Western Union offices.

The scam lasted four weeks, the press release states.

Johnson said would-be victims must identify the people requesting money from them before sending it to avoid being victims of a crime.
