PEA RIDGE — The 15 th annual Pea Ridge Golf Classic / Four Man Scramble sponsored by the Pea Ridge Optimist Club will be Saturday, Aug. 9, at Big Sugar Golf Club. A shotgun start is scheduled for 8 a. m. The event has been held on Labor Day weekend in the past.
Included in the entry fee / donation of $ 60 (per person ) will be: Free range balls from 6: 30 to 8 a. m.; breakfast from 7 - 8 a. m.; lunch; beverages; prizes for two places in three flights; prizes for longest drive, longest putt and closest to the hole; and registration goodie bag.
Donations are being requested to help the Optimist Club raise money for projects in the community. The Optimist Club donated thousands of dollars last year to many individuals and organizations that help bring out the best in kids.
Optimist Club members said they want this year’s golf classic to be bigger and better, but need community help.
For hole sponsors, a sign will be placed on a tee box to advertise the business or family and let people in the community know how much they support the youth in the area. Ways to be a hole sponsor: Diamond $ 1, 000 or more; Platinum $ 200 to $ 999; Gold $ 100 to $ 199.
If not a hole sponsor last year, add $ 25 to the donation to cover the cost of the sign and send print ready information for the advertisement.
Silver or bronze donations of merchandise, services and cash are also appreciated.
For information, contact Jason Van Dyke at 518-6007. Deadline is Aug. 2.
