BENTONVILLE - Prosecutors filed a formal charge against a Springdale man accused of using a computer to solicit a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

Geoff Neal Blake, 46, is charged with computer child pornography, a class B felony punishable with a prison sentence ranging from five to 20 years.

Deputy Prosecutor Mike Armstrong filed the criminal information against Blake, accusing him using a computer online service to attempt to solicit, lure or entice an individual believed to be a child to engage in sexually explicit conduct.

Blake was arrested May 27 after arranging to meet a 14-year-old girl at a Bentonville baseball field. He was met by Benton County Sheriff's Office investigators.

Dennis Schumacher, an investigator with the Benton County Sheriff's Office, previously said he and part-time deputy Richard Ivy were online when Blake began communicating with Ivy, who was posing as a 14-year-old girl.

The communication turned sexual, and Blake wanted to meet the teenage girl. A meeting was arranged at a baseball field near Bentonville High School, the deputies reported.

Blake was arrested by the BCSO investigators when he arrived at the location.

He was released from the Benton County Jail after posting a $ 10, 000 bond.

Blake is scheduled to appear at 8: 30 a.m. July 7 for an arraignment in Circuit Judge Tom Keith's court.
