BENTONVILLE - The yearly Compton Gardens plant sale will be from 9 a.m. to 3: 30 p.m. Saturday.

"We're holding the sale in the parking lot at Compton Gardens, and the majority of the plants were grown in our greenhouses here," said Corrin Frizzell, site manager and foundation horticulturist. "We have a few trees and shrubs, but most of the plants are native perennials such as purple cone flowers; golden Alexander, which is excellent for butterflies; and prairie phlox."

Compton Gardens is at 312 N. Main St. in Bentonville, just blocks from the Bentonville Square. The 6. 5 acres of native woodland plants and walking trails are the former home and grounds of Dr. Neil Compton, a physician, author, photographer and naturalist.
