BENTONVILLE — The yearly Compton Gardens plant sale will be from 9 a. m. to 3: 30 p. m. Saturday.

“ We’re holding the sale in the parking lot at Compton Gardens, and the majority of the plants were grown in our greenhouses here, ” said Corrin Frizzell, site manager and foundation horticulturist. “ We have a few trees and shrubs, but most of the plants are native perennials such as purple cone flowers; golden Alexander, which is excellent for butterflies; and prairie phlox. ”

Compton Gardens is at 312 N. Main St. in Bentonville, just blocks from the Bentonville Square. The 6. 5 acres of native woodland plants and walking trails are the former home and grounds of Dr. Neil Compton, a physician, author, photographer and naturalist.
