Benton County Sheriff ’s Office investigators arrest two on drug charges

BENTONVILLE - A monthlong narcotics investigation led to the arrest of two people suspected of drug crimes on Tuesday.
Narcotics investigators for the Benton County Sheriff's Office arrested Gabriel Dean Jasper, 29, of Springdale, and Janelle Dawn Underwood, 26, of Bentonville, following an undercover operation in which Jasper and Underwood delivered several grams of methamphetamine and cocaine to undercover investigators, according to a news release from the BCSO.
According to the release, undercover deputies infiltrated a midlevel methamphetamine distribution organization operating in various parts of Benton and Washington counties. The investigators initiated several undercover operations in Siloam Springs, Lowell, Centerton and other parts of Benton County. Deputies seized 115 grams of methamphetamine and 30 grams of cocaine with an approximate street value of $ 14, 500, the release states.
Deputies believe Jasper and Underwood were responsible for distributing several ounces of methamphetamine and cocaine per week, according to the release. The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are trying to identify others associated with Jasper and Underwood.
Jasper was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine ); delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine ); and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Underwood was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They are being held in the Benton County Jail awaiting bond hearings.
Centerton police assisted with the arrests.
