Live on Stage to close with Beatles’ tribute

BENTONVILLE - The last concert of the Live on Stage in NWA ! season will at 2 p.m. May 11 at the Arend Arts Center at Bentonville High School.

"Revolution - A Tribute to the Beatles"is a group of four men who are Beatles imitators who are noted for their amazing resemblance to the original group.

Along with all the fun at the concert, during intermission Live on Stage in NWA ! will present three $ 1, 500 scholarships and two $ 1, 000 scholarships to local music students. Two of the students are from Gravette High School, two are from Bentonville High School and one is from the Northwest Arkansas Academy of Fine Arts in Rogers.

The group consists of Tim Piper as John Lennon, Jim Neil as Paul McCartney, Greg Piper as George Harrison and Mike Sarafian as Ringo Starr. The Beatles' greatest hits will be showcased and authentic instruments and costumes can be seen and heard.

Piper was raised in New York City. He has been selected by Hollywood casting directors to portray Lennon in the E ! production of the "John Lennon Story."

Piper has toured the world for the past decade with shows featuring the Beatles. Neil is a native of California. A talented bass player, vocalist and recording engineer, Neil runs his won studio. Piper, a guitarist, is ideal to play the part of Harrison. Sarafian provides the unique drumming style of Starr.

Tickets are $ 25 each or $ 5 for students with an identification card. They may be purchased by mail, phone or at the Arend Arts Center the day of the concert. After the concert, attendees can meet the artists at a "Dining With The Stars"event at the Bentonville Clarion Hotel and Convention Center.

A reception will begin at 4: 30 p. m., and a buffet dinner will start at 5: 30 p. m., including a salad bar, choice of two entrees, vegetables, rolls, dessert bar and coffee or tea. Dinner is $ 18 including tip and taxes. Reservations are recommended.
