NWA Personal Computer User Group
The group will meet at 1 p. m. April 19 in suites 217, 219 and 221 of the Education and Computer Center in the north wing of the Jones Center for Families, 922 E. Emma Ave. in Springdale. The program will be “ Converting LP and Other Records to Digital and Burning CDs, ” by Joe Schork.

The group will host its annual baby-quilt workshop April 17 at the Jones Center for Families, 922 E. Emma Ave. in Springdale.
This workshop will serve as the guild’s monthly meeting for April. The date has been changed to accommodate a large number of members who will attend the American Quilters Society show in Kentucky the following week.
The workshop will also feature extended hours — 1 p. m. to 9 p. m.
Guests are welcome to attend their first meeting at no charge. Subsequently, there is a $ 20 annual membership fee.

The club’s annual golf tournament will be May 3 at the Kingswood Golf Course in Bella Vista. The event will start at 10: 30 a. m. The entry fee is $ 2 per person to be paid to Richard Johnson at the event. The format is a four-man scramble for couples, singles or pairs. All golfers are responsible for their green fees and carts. Ten tee times have been reserved, so only the first 40 to sign up will play.
Members don’t need to golf to join the group for dinner, catered by Papa Mike’s, which will be at the Riordan Pavilion. A social hour will begin at 4 p. m., with dinner at 5 p. m. The cost per person for the meal is $ 9. Golf and door prizes will be given out at the dinner.
Send checks for the dinner, made payable to the Lone Star Club, to Richard Johnson, 101 Cullen Hills Drive, Bella Vista, AR 72715. There will be no refunds or cancellations on dinner reservations after May 1.

The Rogers chapter will host the District 8 Conference April 24-26 at the Embassy Suites in Rogers.
Approximately 200 Altrusans are expected to attend the conference, which will include workshops and other activities. Former “ American Idol” contestant Patrick Hall of Gravette will entertain the night of April 25.
The keynote speaker will be Michael Shoulders, a children’s author from Clarksville, Tenn. His book “ D Is for Drum” recently received a Teacher’s Choice Award. Bella Vista Crime Watch
The monthly board of directors meeting will be at 1 p. m. April 17 at the Highland Crossing Community Center, 1801 Forest Hills Blvd.
The group is a nonprofit volunteer community-service organization whose purpose is to help provide safety to Bella Vista residents by patrolling streets and roads and reporting suspicious activities, illegal dumps, street problems and stray dogs. Volunteers usually spend two to three hours, once a month, patrolling the area around their homes during daylight hours.
To join, prospective volunteers must attend one twohour orientation meeting. The next orientation meeting will be at 6 p. m. April 21 at the Highland Crossing Community Center.

The club meets the fourth Wednesday of the month, January through April and in September and October, at United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road in Bella Vista.
A social time begins at 11: 30 a. m., with refreshments at noon. A meeting and a program follow.
April’s program will present the “ Challenges of a Bella Vista Garden With an Artist’s Concept. ”
Upcoming events include a plant sale at Tanyard Creek on May 3 and a juried flower show June 7 at Bella Vista Community Church.
