Annual Alzheimer’s symposium set

SPRINGDALE - Jill Hernandez, author of two Alzheimer's activity books, will be at the second annual Alzheimer's Association Education Symposium on April 18 at the Springdale Holiday Inn Convention Center.

Hernandez, who lives in Bedford, Texas, will have autographed copies of her books available for sale. Symposium registrants will be able to browse approximately 30 industry-related vendor tables.

The education symposium will be a full day of plenary and breakout sessions on a variety of topics related to the care of those with a dementia diagnosis. The symposium offers 6. 5 contact hours, authorized by the office of longterm care, for administrators, nurses and social workers.

The registration fee will be reduced for those who are family caregivers.

The Celebration of Excellence luncheon will honor the Alzheimer's Association's local volunteers, philanthropists, advocates and health-care partners.
