FEMA to assess properties in Benton County today
Posted on Wednesday, March 26, 2008
BENTON COUNTY - Representatives with the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will visit Benton County today.
"They will be assessing damage to personal property and businesses that were impacted by last week's flooding," said Marshal Watson, director of the Benton County Department of Emergency Management.
In an effort to meet the criteria for state assistance, individuals whose homes or businesses were damaged and don't have insurance or are underinsured are being asked to call 271-1004 and report their information. The assessment team will only be able to assess those who call in damage, Watson said.
The assessment will determine the type and amount of assistance that will be available to individuals and business owners. All necessary paperwork will be filled out by the assessment team.
