ROGERS — The Association for Beaver Lake Environment will sponsor a forum for candidates for Benton County judge at 6: 30 p. m. today in the main Community Room at the Rogers Public Library.

The library is at 711 S. Dixieland Road. The public is invited to the event.

At the forum, the candidates will address issues that directly effect Beaver Lake, the source of northwest Arkansas’ drinking-water supply.

Founded in 1980, ABLE is a nonprofit organization of citizens dedicated to promoting the welfare, development and environment of the areas surrounding Beaver Lake, according to a U. S. Environmental Protection Agency Web site.

The county judge is the county’s top political executive.

Candidates for county judge are former Justice of the Peace Bill Adams; longtime state Sen. Dave Bisbee; Justice of the Peace Chris Glass; developer Kevin Harrison; Rogers City Council member Greg Hines; and innkeeper Bill Williams.

Current County Judge Gary D. Black decided earlier this year not to seek re-election.
