Gentry offers info on health-care coverage
Posted on Thursday, March 20, 2008
The Main Street Gentry Chamber of Commerce will host a presentation on health-care coverage for small-business employers at 5: 30 p. m. Tuesday at the Chamber office, 212 E. Main St.
ARHealthNet, a health-care benefits program funded by the federal and state governments, will send a representative to the event.
“ This will be a great opportunity for all Gentry business owners to learn about this program, ” said Bev Saunders, director of the chamber. “ All Gentry business owners are invited, ” she said, “ regardless of whether or not they are chamber members. ”
Since its inception 14 months ago, ARHealthNet has helped more than 700 small-business employers in Arkansas offer basic levels of health-care coverage to their employees.
The program is available to the first 15, 000 members who enroll and qualify. Monthly premiums have, in some cases, been as low as $ 31 per month, according to a letter from Dwayne Tankersley, a representative of NovaSys Health.
The presentation will last about 30 minutes, followed by a chamber meeting.
