ROGERS - Businesses in the city's downtown historic district will kick off a new monthly Twilight Art Walk and sale from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

With its new art galleries, architects, interior designers, the Design Center and the soon-to-open Northwest Arkansas Fine Arts Academy, the downtown Rogers area is continuing to grow as a magnet for the region's creative talent, according to a release from Poor Richard's Art.

"Novice and experienced art collectors can meet the artists and take home exceptional original art to fit every budget, ranging from paintings to jewelry, furniture to sculpture," said Mary Elizabeth Schopp, the owner of the gallery.

There will also be at least three sets of street musicians playing, and a Hummer will be available to take the attendees to the different areas of downtown. Several stores will host live artist demonstrations, special sales and outdoor events.

The monthly event will take place on the third Friday of the month, beginning Friday and running through October.
