BENTONVILLE — Explaining that she’s answered the “ How has your life changed since ‘ American Idol’ last season ? ” question more than any other, Mandisa Hundley has a ready answer.

“ Everything, ” she said with a laugh. “ Just everything has changed in my life except my family, friends and value system. ”

Hundley will give a concert at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville at 7 p. m. Feb. 22. The church is at 200 S. W. A St. Advance tickets may be purchased online at www. fbcbentonville. org or at the church for $ 15 each. Tickets will be $ 20 at the door the night of the event. The First Choice event is presented by the Women’s Ministry of the church.

“ I have a band now, and they’ll be coming with me to Bentonville, ” Hundley said. “ Susan Goss (the director of the Women’s Ministry at First Baptist ) is a good friend of mine, so I’ve been to Bentonville before. I can’t wait to get back. I’ll be there a couple of days because I’m also doing something for Wal-Mart while I’m there. ”

Hundley said she met Goss through Living Proof Ministries founder Beth Moore and her worship leader Travis Cottrell. Longtime friends, Goss and Moore grew up in Arkadelphia.

“ My mother was saved at a Beth Moore conference in Phoenix a few years ago, ” Hundley said. “ Because of Beth and her worship leader Travis, I met Susan Goss. I just love her. I’m really glad she invited us to Bentonville. ”

Hundley, a finalist in “ American Idol’s” fifth season last year, said her performance Feb. 22 will include sharing a bit of her own story and testimony. From Sacramento, Hundley was not raised in a church and was 16 when she was saved, she said. Her faith has only grown stronger over the past few years.

“ People who come to the concert, ” Hundley said, “ can expect a variety of hymns and gospels. I believe it’s not about the songs we sing. It’s about the heart that we bring. We want to ask ourselves if we’re really giving ourselves to God when we worship. I think we’ll have a great time in Bentonville. I’m excited about it. ”
