Work progresses on Progress Avenue

SILOAM SPRINGS - Road work on Progress Avenue has been rolling along since July 4.
"It's been progress lately - no pun intended," said David Bushey, resident engineer for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. "It was real slow until beginning in July."
A rainy spring caused delays in the project. The new four-lane road is now expected to open in November. The state highway project is being completed from just north of Wal-Mart to Cheri Whitlock Drive. The project, planned to be completed this summer, had previously been planned to wrap up in fall 2007. Final sod and dirt work in the medians and along the sides of the road might not be done until early 2009, Bushey said.
