BENTONVILLE - Expanding beyond its office at 113 N. Main St. here, Rockfish Interactive, a technology and digital marketing company, will soon occupy space at 115 S. Main St., too. Growing from only one employee - founder Kenny Tomlin - in January 2006 to 32 employees today; Rockfish clearly required additional room.

"We haven't seen any evidence of any kind of slow-down at all," Tomlin explained. "We have some great clients including Wal-Mart. Sam's, Arvest and Crystal Bridges as well as others. We have great customers and an award winning team."

Tomlin said because of increased business, he's had to begin some recruiting out of the area to hire staff members.

"I don't anticipate any difficulty in recruiting because northwest Arkansas is such a desirable place to live and work," Tomlin said. "We are unique to this area as far as interactive companies go and we try to make this a fun, casual place to work. We take our jobs and our clients seriously, of course, but we try not to take ourselves so seriously.

"There are three main components, all C's to our culture here at Rockfish. Competency, character and cultural fit. By competency I also mean the potential shown by an employee. Character is the trust we feel with good, reliable people for our clients and cultural fit is how the employees are going to fit in with our staff. Are they people we enjoy being around ? I feel great about our staff. We're fortunate to have such a quality team who are passionate and selfmotivated about what we're accomplishing."

Scott Stamps has been working at Rockfish since January.

"I love working here," Stamps said, smiling. "It's a smaller company and that's what I prefer. I've worked at larger companies and I just like the atmosphere more when it's not such a big place. It's comfortable here and more easy-going. We can wear jeans and another good benefit of working here is Kenny's wife brings lunch a couple of times a week. You can't beat that. We have lots of new projects and stay busy all the time. I'm glad I'm here."
