The first 200 families who arrive at Frisco Park between 9 a. m. and 1 p. m. today will receive supplies as part of the annual Build-A-Scarecrow event. College prep seminar today at NWACC The Hispanic Scholarship Fund will host Steps for Success, a program for sixth- through 12 th-graders that focuses on college preparation, from 8: 30 a. m.-2 p. m. today at Northwest Arkansas Community College’s Shewmaker Center in Bentonville. Workshops include “Preparing and Paying for College,” “ Preparing for the PLAN / ACT, ” “University Profiles,” “ Writing Personal Statements” and “Researching Financial Aid.” Each participant will attend three workshops and a college fair. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served. Parents are welcome and may attend special workshops held in Spanish. More information is available at www. hsf. net / workshops. aspx.
