— ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE ‘Happy Hour Tour’ comes to Fort Smith Comedian and motivational speaker Bernie McGrenahan will bring his “Happy Hour Tour,” which promotes responsible drinking, to the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith’s Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center at 5: 30 p. m. Sept. 16. A former drinker, McGrenahan will use humor in discussing his substance abuse problems. The event is part of the school’s Wellness Week. Admission is $ 5 for dinner and the performance and $ 2 for the performance only. Proceeds benefit Harbor House, a substance abuse treatment facility in Fort Smith. — ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE Dance With the Stars is Sept. 18 Dancing with the Northwest Arkansas Stars, a charity dance benefit for Reality Check Inc., will begin at 6: 30 p. m. Sept. 18 at the Million Air Jet Hangar at Fayetteville’s Drake Field. Prominent residents will partner with trained ballroom dancers to compete in a dance competition. Local stars expected to dance include Miss Arkansas Rachel Howells; Dick Trammel of Arvest Bank; former Razorbacks Curt Davis and Bruce Lahay; and KFSM reporter Mary Marsh. A silent auction will be held at 6: 30 p. m., followed by the dance competition at 7: 30 p. m. Reality Check Inc. is a nonprofit organization that promotes abstinence.
