Endia Gomez Occupation: I am an artist and faculty member at the Arkansas Arts Center Museum School and at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Community School of the Arts, and I work with my husband in our family business, Save-U-Movers Inc.
Where I live: My husband, Kevin, and I live in west Little Rock with Jackey, our blue and gold macaw, and Tank, our bull mastiff.
My favorite space: Studio 8 at the Arkansas Arts Center Museum School.
Why ? It’s where I feel most alive. The Arts Center has great exhibits that inspire me, and then I come down to the studio to teach and feel like this is what I’m meant to do. This is a nice calm place that feels so natural and comfortable. I learn so much from the students, and they learn from each other by just being in this environment. Everyone grows. I feel very honored to be here and lucky that every day I can get up and do something that I love to do.
If I could do one thing to improve this space, I would: Our enrollment is growing so a larger studio space would be nice to accommodate all of the students. Lockers and more drying racks would be helpful so they could leave their art and supplies here.
