Big Time Festival starts Friday in little city

The Big Time Festival comes to the small town of Eureka Springs starting on Friday and running through Sept. 17.
Dr. John will perform from 8: 30 to 10 p. m. Friday in The Auditorium; tickets are $ 45.
Little Feat, with opening act Vince Herman from Leftover Salmon, will perform from 7: 30 to 9 p. m. Saturday in The Auditorium; tickets are $ 45.
All seats are reserved for the concerts. A “Big Time Package” with a ticket to each of the auditorium concerts, is available for $ 80.
The finals of the Big Time Band Contest will be held from 1 to 5 p. m. Friday in Basin Park, adjoining the Basin Park Hotel on Spring Street. Contestants will be: Phantazmelodia, from Fayetteville; The Adam Lopez Band and Tribe of Souls, both from Tulsa; Whiskey Fallen, from Clarksville; and Gung Hobos and Charlie Horse, both from Fayetteville. The winner will receive recording time at Winterwood Studios in Eureka Springs and play at the FeatFest Jam at the Caribe restaurant at 9: 30 p. m. Saturday. Admission is $ 10.
The Caribe will host singersongwriter Tiffany Christopher from 5: 30 to 7: 30 p. m. Friday. The show along with a Fiesta Dinner, is $ 25.
Other shows around town are the Sugar Free Allstars with the friends of Fred Tackett performing Friday from 10 p. m. to 1 a. m. in the ballroom of the Basin Park Hotel. Tickets are $ 15. The band Speakeasy with special guest Vince Herman will perform Saturday from 9: 30 p. m. to 1 a. m. in Chelsea’s club. Tickets are $ 15.
A Ferrari Parade starts at noon Saturday; followed by a Feat Fan Parade of characters based on the songs of Little Feat, culminating with the Feat Fan Jam in Basin Park.
The Missouri State University Jazz Band will play, beginning at noon Sept. 17 in Basin Park.
