CLASS 5A SOFTBALL : Williams’ home run starts Nettleton victory

HARRISON — Nettleton defeated Alma 7-2 in the semifinals of the Class 5 A State Softball Tournament on Cavender’s Field Monday, and advanced to the state championship game.
Nettleton (28-2 ) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second when center fielder Jordan Williams hit a two-run home run over the fence in center field.

Jasmyne Smith doubled and scored on a single by Ellen Crunby in the second and Ashley Boyles hit a home run over the left field fence in the sixth inning to account for the scoring.
