Ralph Pridmore of Jacksonville closed out the TCBA season at Enterprise Lanes with his fourth 800 series, an 802, coming on games of 288, 235 and 279.
“I started the 288 by sparing the 10-pin, then struck until the I left the 6-10 my last ball,” said Pridmore, retired from Union Pacific. “I left the 6-pin the second frame of the 279 and the 7-pin the last ball. I finished with 28 of a possible 36 strikes. I used an Ebonite Angular One ball drilled by Charlie Jordan.
“ I shot my 11 th 300 game in the Cabot First League at Allfam Family Bowl that came between games of 225 and 244, giving me a 769 series. They were all good shots except the first ball the 10 th frame. I threw it too hard, but it carried.”
Pridmore teamed with Martin Pledger of Hot Springs Village to win the SASBA Member / Guest tournament and $ 2, 000 on Oct. 7, 2007 at Millennium Bowl. He was a member of the SASBA four-man team that won $ 3, 200 at Timber Lodge Lanes in Monticello on Oct. 28, 2007.
Pridmore, 60, started bowling at 15 at Hilltop Lanes in Jacksonville. He has an 848 high, 10 299 s and five 11-strikes-in-a-row awards.
POWER BALL DOES JOB Jonesboro’s Eugene Neff followed games of 193 and 236 with his third 300 game for a 729 series in the Business & Industrial League at the Jonesboro Bowling Center. Neff wasn’t through as he came back in the same league with games of 300, 278 and 245 for an 823 and his first 800 series. “The first set, I changed balls the middle of the first game to a Lane Masters XS Power ball,” Neff said. “The first nine balls were pretty solid. I pulled the 10 th ball high, the 11 th ball was good, and I tugged the 12 th ball a little, but it held for the strike. I’m taking the ring. “ My fourth 300, every ball was good except the 11 th ball that went a little high. The 12 th ball was flush and I took the ring for the 800. The 278 game, I had the front eight [strikes ], spared the 9-pin, doubled and left another 9-pin. I had 20 strikes in a row at one point and finished with 28 of a possible 34 strikes.” Neff, 48, a road foreman for the Craighead County road department, started bowling at 17 at Chetuck Lanes in Jonesboro. He averages 213 and 215, has three 299 games, one 298 and three 11-strikes-in-a-row including a 297.
