LITTLE ROCK — Elizabeth Bragg Russell and Marshall Thomas Saviers were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at Second Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Belvin Miller offi ciating.

The bride is the daughter of Ellen and James Shepherd Russell III of Little Rock. She is the granddaughter of Annie Ruth and the late Dr. Thomas Frances Kelley of Charlotte, N. C., and Jean Feild and the late Rev. James Shepherd Russell of Virginia Beach, Va.

The bridegroom is the son of Vicki and Robert Mark Saviers of Little Rock. He is the grandson of Dr. Boyd Miller Saviers and the late Jane Almon Saviers of Fort Smith and Annella Humphreys Van Zandt of Little Rock and the late Jerry Bryan Van Zandt.

The church altar was decorated with arrangements of garden roses, tulips, hydrangeas, peonies, lilies, stock and viburnum in white and cream and accented with pink. Nuptial music was by organist Carol G. Majors and Courtney Swindler on trumpet.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless ball gown of ivory English net featuring a hand-draped bodice with a sweetheart neckline and a handdraped full panel skirt. She wore a cathedral-length veil covered with hand-embroidered daisies and carried a clutch bouquet of garden roses, tulips, hydrangeas and peonies, which were cream and white with pink accents.

Anne Kelley Russell of Gainesville, Fla., was her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kathryn Franke Kitchens and Mary Lee Welch, both of Little Rock; Anne Mertins Fulghom of Atlanta; Jennifer Leighann Jones of Memphis; Mary Lyons Mitchell of Raleigh, N. C.; and Julie Lexanne Motley of Dallas.

They wore strapless full-length parfait-colored gowns featuring a sweetheart neckline and watteau trains. They carried clutch bouquets of hot pink, coral and lime green roses, tulips, peonies, ranunculus and viburnum.

The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were John Allen Fox Jr. of Dallas; Matthew Michael Weber of Fayetteville; and Adam Ewing Faulkner, George Andrew Norton Jr., brother of the bride James Shepherd Russell IV, brother of the bridegroom John Mark Saviers, Gregory Braxton Soloman and Zachary Thomas Steadman, all of Little Rock.

Helping to seat the guests were cousins of the bridegroom Richard Crafton Appleton Jr. and Ross Carter Van Zandt, both of Fayetteville; cousin of the bridegroom James Boyd Saviers and Kenneth Aaron Clark, both of Little Rock; and Joseph Charles Fox of Las Vegas.

A reception followed at the Country Club of Little Rock. Tables were decorated with glass vase centerpieces of fl owering branches and orchids adorned with hanging votives and crystal jewels.

Reception music was provided by the Ted Ludwig Jazz Group in the ballroom and the Soul Shockers in the Garden Room.

The bride has a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from the University of Mississippi at Oxford and will begin pursuing a master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Arkansas. She is assistant to the dean of the College of Education and Health Professions at the UA.

The bridegroom has a bachelor’s degree in business and a minor in history from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He is vice president of Sage Partners Commercial Real Estate Firm in Fayetteville.

After a wedding trip to Antigua, the couple will reside in Fayetteville.
