FAYETTEVILLE — With its flower gardens and foliage coming into bloom, the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks was as good a place as any for a visit from Cindy Schwalb, a representative with Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine and Web site.
Schwalb was in town to evaluate Fayetteville for the magazine’s annual Top 10 list of cities for economic growth and attended an April 22 gathering of the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals group.
Steve Rust, president and chief executive officer of the Fayetteville Economic Development Council, also attended the after-hours gettogether and spent additional time with Schwalb as she took in the area and examined demographics.
Guests gathered under white tents set up at the garden’s entrance and enjoyed light hors d’oeuvres and beer and wine while networking with other professionals. The group was organized in late 2004 to promote casual interaction among chamber members 40 and under. Previous events have been held at Walton Arts Center, Dickson Theater and Cool Water Cafe.
