LITTLE ROCK — Windstream Corp. has closed on the $ 60 million sale of wireless properties in North Carolina as it concentrates on its landlinebased voice, Internet and television service.
Windstream sold 52, 000 wireless accounts and six retail locations to AT&T, the company said Friday. The deal was recently approved by federal regulators.
The Little Rock-based company had acquired the properties last year when it purchased CT Communications for $ 585 million. CT had offered wireless products through a co-branding agreement with AT&T. Windstream in 2006 had considered offering a limited number of wireless products but opted instead for wired products.
