Ex-LR school chief sentencing delayed

CLAYTON, Mo. — The sentencing of a former suburban St. Louis school superintendent is delayed until Jan. 5 because he could not immediately begin paying more than $ 100, 000 he owes in restitution.
Former Riverview Gardens Superintendent Henry P. Williams — a former Little Rock School District superintendent — was scheduled for sentencing last Friday in Missouri. He pleaded no contest in September to two counts of felony theft and three counts of tax fraud in Missouri.
Authorities in Missouri say Williams, 67, converted more than $ 25, 000 in Riverview Gardens district funds for personal use. He was also accused of doubledipping on travel expenses and underreporting his income for three years while at Riverview Gardens.
He could face up to 37 years in prison.
Before arriving at Riverview Gardens, Williams was a superintendent in Syracuse, N. Y., Little Rock and Kansas City, Mo.
