SPRINGDALE — Campaign finance reports for the mayoral runoff were due Tuesday, and candidate filings show Alderman Mike Overton has spent more than $ 66, 000 on the election. Opponent Doug Sprouse, meanwhile, has spent just over $ 36, 000.

Between Oct. 25 and Nov. 15, Overton raised $ 3, 669 while Doug Sprouse brought in another $ 6, 964. Overton and Sprouse beat four other candidates Nov. 4 to make the Nov. 25 runoff, with Sprouse having collected the most votes.

Overton’s bankroll has been buoyed by a $ 37, 500 loan he made to the campaign. Overton has $ 9, 500 in cash on hand while Sprouse has $ 4, 140 in his war chest.
