Remains of missing woman identified

The identity of the body discovered near Ridgeview Residential and Assisted Care Center was confirmed Friday by Eureka Springs police.
Penny Louise Sherman was identified by the Arkansas Crime Laboratory through dental records.
Sherman’s remains were found Oct. 8 on property about a halfmile south of the center. The discovery was made by a real estate agent and prospective buyer.
The area had been searched by people and dogs in May after Sherman walked away from the center. Her remains were scattered over a quarter-mile area.
Police report no signs of trauma were discovered and that the cause of death was not determined.
