Special Olympics receives $ 25, 000 gift

The Wal-Mart Foundation gave a $ 25, 000 donation to Special Olympics Arkansas Thursday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in North Little Rock.

The donation will fund training for athletes, coaches and volunteers at three new sports camps planned statewide.

The new camps will train coaches and athletes for certification in up to three sports.

Special Olympics Arkansas provides year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The Wal-Mart Foundation supports education, job training, environmental and health programs throughout the United States.
