A Pine Bluff man was indicted Wednesday by a federal grand jury in Little Rock in the July 22 armed robbery of the Gould post office.
The indictment alleges that Justin Ray, 20, took $ 200 from an employee at gunpoint. Ray is charged with one count each of postal robbery and brandishing a firearm during a postal robbery.
“This was an armed robbery in which postal employees and / or postal customers could have easily been injured or killed,” U. S. Attorney Jane Duke said in a news release.
If convicted of postal robbery, Ray faces up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $ 25, 000. The other charge carries a sentence of seven years to life in prison to be served after the first sentence.
The investigation was conducted by the U. S. Postal Service and the Pine Bluff Police Department.
