Mountain Meadows group to meet The Mountain Meadows Association, a group dedicated to remembering the Mountain Meadows Massacre, will hold its annual meeting Sept. 26-28 in Eureka Springs. Activities include a Belle of the Ozarks cruise around Beaver Lake; a panel discussion about the massacre and its aftermath at the Carroll County Courthouse; a bus tour of historic sites; the annual dinner and meeting; and Sunday services at Thorncrown Chapel. The Mountain Meadows Massacre occurred Sept. 7, 1857, when a group of Arkansans bound for California were attacked by Mormons and American Indians in Utah.
