Tech moves funds for housing repairs

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas Tech University Board of Trustees approved transferring funds Thursday to cover costs associated with recent renovations to East Gate Apartments on campus.

The renovations, which cost $ 66, 000, included the installation of new appliances, light fixtures, bathroom vanities and carpet.

The East Gate Apartments complex is on East K Street in Russellville, near the Tech campus. Funds for the renovations were transferred from the unappropriated auxiliary housing fund balance.

In other business during the trustees’ regular monthly meeting at the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center on Thursday, the board approved:

A transfer of $ 98, 233 from unappropriated funds for a new parking lot on the Ozark campus. The lot will replace parking areas lost due to ongoing construction of a student center.

Parking regulations for the Russellville and Ozark campuses for 2008-09. Letters of intent to begin an associate of science degree program in culinary science on the Russellville campus and technical certificate programs in viticulture and enology on the Ozark campus.
