Experts to talk on injuries in sports

Sports medicine experts at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences will discuss injuries, rehabilitation and other sports medicine topics at a free symposium Sept. 6.

The event is open to players, coaches and the public. It will be 10 a. m. to noon in the Sam Walton Auditorium on the 10 th floor of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute in Little Rock.

Speakers and topics will include Dr. Ash Hasan on common injuries for athletes who throw and tackle; Dr. Robert Lumsden on sports injuries to the hand, wrist and forearm; Dr. Ruth Thomas on the athlete’s foot; Dr. Jack Vander-Schilden on the athlete’s knee; and physical therapist William Rogers on rehabilitation.
