Commission gives roadway contracts

The Arkansas Highway Commission tentatively has awarded contracts totaling about $ 11. 5 million for road projects in Benton, Boone, Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Newton and Washington counties, according to news releases.
Jimmy Jones Excavation Inc. of Berryville was the apparent low bidder to widen Arkansas 102 from two to five lanes for 1 2 / 2 miles in Bentonville. The bid was a little more than $ 9. 2 million for the overall $ 16 million project.

In Madison and Newton counties, APAC-Arkansas Inc. of Fayetteville was the apparent low bidder to repair 0. 35 mile of flood damage to Arkansas 16 south of Delaney in Madison County, Arkansas 43 north of the Buffalo River in Newton County and Arkansas 103 near the George community in Newton County.
APAC-Arkansas said it could complete the repairs by late this year for $ 981, 540.
In Boone County, APAC-Arkansas was the apparent low bidder at $ 526, 083 to resurface approximately three miles of County Road 18 south of Omaha and County Road 23 north of Omaha. APAC-Arkansas said it could complete the project by the end of the year.
In Carroll County, Hutchens Construction Co. of Cassville, Mo., was the apparent low bidder to reseal approximately 22 miles of various sections of County Roads 4, 20, 21, 51, 55, 70, 73, 80 and 429.
