Forum for dance teachers is Aug. 14 Dance teachers are invited to participate in a forum with staff from the Houston Ballet at 9 a. m. Aug. 14 at the Walton Arts Center. The day will begin with teacher observation of morning dance classes at 9 a. m. At 12: 30 p. m. Houston Ballet staff will hold a brown bag lunch to discuss different aspects of teaching dance. At 1: 30 p. m. there will be an open discussion of “The Business of Ballet: Running a Dance School.” The day will conclude at 5: 30 p. m. with happy hour. Shelly Power, associate director of the Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy, will lead the sessions. Registration is free, but tickets are required.
