July 24, 1908 Residents of Little Rock were allowed to view one of the much discussed Directoire gowns yesterday, and conservative estimates place the number who saw the Paris creation at the store of M. M. Cohn at not less than 3, 000. The most notable and noticeable feature of the gown is, of course, the slit in the left side of the skirt, if the lower part of the dress could be termed a skirt. Alan Cranston, D-Calif., tout his colleague, Dale Bumpers, as a possible running mate in Cranston’s bid for the White House.

While how much money will flow to Arkansas is uncertain, officials at the state Department of Human Services said the help is sorely needed.
