— ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE Area sites receive preservation grants The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, has awarded $ 2, 048, 177 in grants for projects in 35 counties in Arkansas. Springdale received a $ 28, 230 Historic Preservation Grant for roof and steeple restoration at the 1870 Shiloh Meeting Hall. Fayetteville received a $ 7, 500 certified local government grant for training for the Fayetteville historic district commission. Other grants for historic restoration include $ 61, 535 to Bryant-Lasater House in Mulberry; $ 50, 500 to the Communications Art Institute in Eureka Springs; $ 22, 500 to the Bergdorf Building in Eureka Springs; and $ 61, 000 to the Mulberry High School Economics Building. Courthouse grants also were given to Carroll, Crawford and Franklin counties.
