A Fulton County couple donated $ 100, 000 to the College of Pharmacy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences to help establish an endowed chair, the university has announced.

The donation by Karrol and Vicki Fowlkes of Salem will be made over four years and go toward the $ 1 million goal to be used by current and future deans to advance the college.

“This gift is extremely meaningful since it comes from alumni leaders and a former associate dean,” Dean Stephanie Gardner said in a news release. “We are excited about the prospect of establishing our first endowed chair.” Karrol Fowlkes is a former faculty member and associate dean of the college, and Vickie Fowlkes serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council.

They own Finnegan’s Inc., a medical supplies company in Little Rock.
