Gov. Mike Beebe has appointed these 27 people to state and local positions, his office announced Thursday Tracy Akard, Pearcy, to the state Board of Cosmetology for a term expiring Jan. 15, 2009, replacing Jane Powell.

To the State Technology Council, to serve at the will of the governor: Doris Anderson, Sherwood; David Merrifield, Springdale; and Toby Stephens, Magnolia.

To the Auctioneers Licensing Board for terms expiring April 15, 2012: Charlene Bauer, Bella Vista, replacing Jean Campbell; Kenny McGrew, Glenwood, reappointed; and Dorwin Shaddox, Harrison, replacing Buddy East. People with Disabilities for a term expiring June 1, 2008, replacing Adrian Garmon.

To the Arkansas Recreational Trails Fund Committee to serve at the will of the governor: Adonna Johnson, Searcy, replacing Betty Robinson, and Leah MacPhee, Hot Springs.

Charlene Reed, Marianna, reappointed to the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion Commission for a term expiring April 1, 2013.

George Shelton, Fayetteville, to the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2010, replacing Martha McCaskill.

To the Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging for terms expiring Jan. 14, 2012, unless otherwise noted: Zola Bulloch, Dermott, for a term expiring Jan. 14, 2010, replacing Gisele Souter; Betty Butler, Newport, replacing Shirley Turner; Dale Carter, Little Rock, replacing Albert Porter; Lamar Cole, Fayetteville, reappointed; Marilyn Hicks, Waldron, reappointed; Jean Killian, De Queen, replacing Harriet Raley; Dr. Daron Merryman, Jonesboro, replacing Sherry Johnson; Michael Shepard, Pine Bluff, replacing Dr. Ella Taylor; Estella “Peaches” Watson, Little Rock, replacing Sister Pierre Vorster.

Russell Bailey, Lewisville, was appointed Lafayette County justice of the peace for District 5 for a term expiring Dec. 31, replacing Harvey Ham.

To the Minority Health Commission for terms expiring Jan. 31, 2010: Raul Blasini, Pocahontas, replacing Alvin Coleman; and Larnell Davis, Pine Bluff, reappointed.

Michael Branch, Hot Springs, to the Arkansas State Board of Massage Therapy for a term expiring June 7, 2010, replacing Martha Farmere.

To the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council for terms expiring July 1, 2009: Terry Black Coberly, Bentonville, replacing Gardenia Ambler, and Judge Wes Fowler, Huntsville, replacing Judge Noel Rice.
