PINE BLUFF — A jury Wednesday convicted a Pine Bluff woman of shooting and killing two acquaintances during her birthday celebration in 2006, in a case that ended in a mistrial last year.

Ymari Boyce-Reid, 22, shot Pine Bluff residents Christopher Allen, 29, and Angela Hicks, 36, the day before she turned 20 after a night of drinking and drug use.

A jury of five men and seven women took just under five hours to convict her of two counts of first-degree murder. They recommended a prison sentence of 35 years for killing Hicks and 25 years for killing Allen.

Jefferson County Circuit Judge Berlin Jones ordered the sentences to run consecutively. Boyce-Reid will serve the entire sentence because of a previous violent crime, said Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Rik Ramsey.

Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty for the murders.
